The Fireside Franklin and Cottage Franklin gas stoves can handle a vent pipe that rises up to a maximum of 24' in height. This option is a good alternative when it is not possible to terminate the vent pipe by going through an outside wall. The vent pipe in the room with the stove can be black. Above the ceiling and/or roof, it must be galvanized to protect from rust or corrosion. Unlike woodstove chimneys, this direct vent pipe only extends above the roof 12-48" depending on roof pitch. Included in the list of components below is support for a flat ceiling as well as support for a pitched or cathedral ceiling. You will need to determine the amount of pipe based on the height of the ceiling, attic space, and roof pitch.
